OPERA (Offers and Prospectuses Electronic Repository and Access) is an electronic system which allows for:

(i)     lodgments of prospectuses for offers of shares, debentures, and units in business trusts and collective investment schemes        

         (“CIS”);

(ii)       lodgments of offer documents in respect of mergers and acquisitions under the Singapore Code on Take-Overs and Mergers;

(iii)      submissions of applications for authorization/recognition of CISs and updates on information on CISs; and

(iv)      submissions of applications for registration, and regulatory lodgments, of business trusts.

OPERA also allows any member of the public to:

(i)     view prospectuses lodged with or registered with MAS and comment on lodged prospectuses before MAS registers them;

(ii)    find out the status of prospectuses lodged with MAS;

(iii)   view offer documents concerning take-overs and mergers; and

(iv)   request for extracts of the register of business trusts.
